Paelias, a soldier of the White Lion since boyhood, has followed faithfully the teachings of Erathis all of his life. He strives to put the good of the community before his own interests and would gladly lay down his life for the Order. He thinks of himself as a simple soldier and just another cog in the Machines of his Diety. Paelias volunteered to help found the Mission Temple at Hammersmith while still an initiate in order to cement his dedication to the Order. Ten years after helping to lay the first stones of the elegant temple he was elevated from his initiate status to full brotherhood. He holds this moment as his greatest accomplishment. Only a few short months later the Duke of Sohnenheim came to Hammersmith with demands for conscripts to fight against the tyrannical King Renelahr of Del’etria. Following the charter of the Order the White Lions offered a contingent of two score soldiers and mages to fight for the Duke. Paelias eagerly rose to the challenge and marched off to war for the first time. At the Battle of Meadthick Crick he fought with courage and determination and cemented bonds of friendship with several fellow soldiers. The soldiers of Sohnenheim won a stunning victory over the royal forces that day. The Pegran Turn changed the victory into utter defeat. The few survivors of Sohnenheim’s forces returned home in sorrow. Paelias was particularly shocked by the turn and its total disregard for the teachings of Erathis, but the bonds of brotherhood with his new companions reaffirmed his faith and his desire to enact that faith in the world.
